This policy covers byoqba.com only. It is written with reference to Qatar’s Law No. 13 of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy (PDPPL) and the United Arab Emirates’ Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).

What this website collects

byoqba.com is a static, informational page. It has no forms, no accounts, no checkout, no analytics and no advertising or tracking pixels. We do not use this website to build profiles of visitors.

Technical data processed by our host

Like every website, the server that delivers byoqba.com receives basic technical information so it can send you the page: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, and your browser’s user-agent and referring address. These standard server logs are used only to run, secure and troubleshoot the website, and are kept for a limited period before being deleted or overwritten in line with our hosting provider’s retention settings.

Your language preference

If you switch the page between English and Arabic, your choice is saved in your own browser’s local storage (the key oqba-lang) so the page opens in that language next time. It stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Cookies

byoqba.com does not set any cookies, and we do not use cookies for analytics or advertising on this website. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

Google Fonts

To display our typefaces, the page loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When it does, your browser connects directly to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and standard browser information. Google explains how it handles this data in the Google Fonts privacy FAQ and the Google Privacy Policy.

When you contact us

If you write to hello@byoqba.com (general enquiries) or sales@byoqba.com (private label and bulk sales), or call or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, email address or phone number, your company (for trade enquiries) and the content of your message and any attachments.

  • Why: to read, answer and follow up on your enquiry, and, for trade enquiries, to prepare and manage a possible business relationship.
  • Basis: your consent in contacting us, and the steps needed before or under a contract you ask us to enter into.
  • Who handles it: our team in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace (Google), which processes messages on our behalf.
  • How long: for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting relationship, after which it is deleted unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your enquiry for marketing unless you ask us to.

Where your data goes

Our service providers, including our website host and Google, may process data on servers outside Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. When this happens, we rely on providers that protect personal data in line with the PDPPL and the PDPL, and we transfer data only as those laws permit.

How we protect it

The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to our mailboxes is limited to the people who need it to answer you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, Qatar’s PDPPL (Law No. 13 of 2016) and the United Arab Emirates’ PDPL (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) give you rights over your personal data. These include the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is processed, and to access a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate data corrected or completed;
  • have your data erased, or its processing restricted, where the law allows;
  • object to processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing that has already taken place);
  • receive your data in a structured, commonly used format where the PDPL’s portability right applies.

To use any of these rights, email hello@byoqba.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within the time the applicable law requires. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the competent authority: in Qatar, the National Data Privacy Office at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; in the UAE, the UAE Data Office.

Children

byoqba.com is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, please let us know and we will delete the information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version will always be on this page, with its effective date shown at the top.
